I’m using Salient theme, and I have an image gallery (nectar image gallery from the theme) on my site with about 41 images in it. Trying to edit this gallery, or create a new gallery, hangs if I have more than about 22 images. It has worked very occasionally, but most of the time not. When it hangs, the javascript console gives me a long list of “Failed To Load Resource” error messages, almost all of them referring to admin-ajax.php. Bluehost has increased the memory limits and done everything else they say they can do, and tell me I need to talk to the developer. The developer tells me that it can only be a server-side problem, since the theme has no limits built in. They say that other people have had similar problems and it’s always a server side problem. No PHP errors are generated, as far as I can tell, and that’s what bluehost says too.
Steps to reproduce – create a nectar image gallery, add images, click “create gallery”
-under 22 images – short pause, then gallery created
-over 22 images – short pause then javascript errors appear on console, image gallery stays on image select screen.
Can anyone give me a tip how I can track this down?
