I've read a lot of fixes on here, and nothing has worked for me. I tried to update from 4.3.1 to 4.4.1 toady, and i've been getting this error on the main page and the wp-admin page. It asked me to upgrade the database and failed miserably. I then tried disabling the plugins by renaming the folder. nothing. Then I changed the name of the current theme folder to force it to load the default. nothing. Then I recreated the database, created another installation folder to configure the new settings for the config file. I then copied the new successfully created file to the public_html folder and it worked for about a minute then went down. I have no idea what is going on or what to do at this point. I would pay for support if it was available, but its not so i'm here.
